ANGIE ZABA

 

Ángela María Zabaleta Palacio, a national and international artist who started her career since a young edge being part of several events as a student at only 8 years old, in the 1995 studies Music at the Conservatory of Cali in the Valle’s University, at the same time she joins the group of Music Andina which belongs to her school and representing in the different festivals among the Schools.

 

In 2000 she joins the “Instituto Popular de Cultura (IPC)”.  In that time she is also part of the musical group “Fuerza Mayor” where performs the Drums playing Rock in Spanish and ballad pop.

 

In 2001 she joins the Academy of Music “Shama”, there she studies and rehears with teacher from the la Universidad of Valle.

 

In 2002 becomes a guitar and drums teacher in the “Academia de Música Paula Paz”,  at the same time makes part of important music groups such as “The Angels y  Escencia”  under the musical direction of Paula Andrea Zuleta.

 

In 2003 She is the drummer and chorister of the Orchestra “Arena Tropical” directed by Paula Andrea Zuleta, performing in recognizable places of Cali and around the city, for 3 years she works with different musical genres such as salsa, merengue, bolero, cumbias and currulao.

 

In 2006 Angie makes a musical tour in Guatemala and Salvador with the group “Café y Petróleo” where she plays the timbal, drums, and menor percussion getting a higher level experience in different musical rythms.

 

In 2008 started her own Music Group called Mulata becoming a one of the most recognized of the city and performing in several events in Cali.

 

She stands out as one of the best drummers of the City of Cali and country of Colombia, and performs in several events with her Show de Electro-Percussion.

 

In 2010 joins to work at the Bin Majid hotel In Ras Al Khaima, in the United Arabs Emirates, acquiring a bigger musical ecperience singin and playing timbal, bongo, batería y canto.

 

In October of 2010 works playing timbal at the Orchestra Canela for 2 years making tours for different countries

 

In 2012 gets a contract for 1 year with Bareke Band in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sports Bar. Sohar – Oman in the Middle East.

 

In 2013 she gets a contract for 1 year with Bareke Band in the Movenpick Hotel, Flamingo bar. Bahrain Manama (Middle East)

During the same period, Angie got the opportunity to perform her music in the Country of Turkey.

 

In 2014 becomes Timbalera of the Orquesta femenina D´Caché who makes de musical accompanying to the huge international start from Puerto Rico Gilberto Santa Rosa, playing around the whole country.

 

In 2015 Angie became the Latin drummer of the Orquesta Son de Azúcar de Colombia, starting the tour in Ecuador and ready to get in the next tours till November of the same year.

 

In November of 2015 Angie traveled with Bareke Band as exclusive drummer and singer of the Grand Millennium Hotel Sulaimaniyah in Kurdistan - Iraq where is currently based.

 

Angie has excelled throughout her career because of her facility to conquer her targets, for being an excellent person and professionally has grown up by a impressive way, she is drummer and percussionist recognized for all the musicians in Cali and Colombia, she also serves as a Singer, part of the profession that has enriched with the years of experience, she has a huge repertory going from the Latino to the English, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic.
